I love the GA strips - flights of fancy that they sometimes are. I must say I AM a bit dsmayed that salt of the earth, common sense, good hearted Gertie is now shown going all a-flutter at the thought the man has money. She always seemed too savvy and well grounded for that.
(I think I just set a new run-on sentence record for myself…sorry)
Gertie certainly showed a lot of interest in Earl’s putative fortune. So many on this board have shown contempt for Earl, but could it be Geertie’ a golddigger?

The veranda is a great place for harmonica-playing. I wish Andy Taylor would wander by with his guitar.

$50,000 would be a plus for Bird as far as Gertie might be concerned. Home care workers don’t exactly make the big bucks.

I thought she was just surprised and happy for Bird.
