Our country church went a span of four years without children. Now as families move in again, we are seeing them return. We think that crying babies are music to our ears.
It looks funny here in the cartoon but can you imagine it in real life? The woman shouts over her shoulder at the pastor as she’s leaving the room, “Well, YOU’RE disturbing HIM!” They’d be talking about it for weeks.
Jer 9:22 Speak, “Thus declares יהוה, ‘The corpses of men shall fall as dung on the face of the field, like cuttings after the reaper, with none to gather them.’ ”
Jer 9:23 Thus said יהוה, “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty boast in his might, nor let the rich boast in his riches,
Jer 9:24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am יהוה, doing kindness, right-ruling, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” declares יהוה.
How can a bunch of plants and shrubs quiet down these screaming kids?

I’m not sure if you’re joking or not so I’ll assume you’re not. Most churches have a nursery or room where you take your baby. The ladies of the church sign up to babysit the kids periodically to keep them out of the service so they won’t disturb others.
The two worst that have remained with me from my long-gone churchgoing years were the little boy who grabbed my hair in an iron grip and pulled as hard as he could (his parents did nothing to control him until I reached back to try and extract his fingers from my hair) and the crying toddler who took in a huge breath and then let out an earsplitting scream while swinging himself behind my head and the heads of three other people in my row.
Neither of these little angels’ parents thought they needed to take their kids out of the service.
