This whole thing definitely screams “seventies rock concert”. The backstage and theatre politics like this were at an all time high then. “Where’s your backstage pass?” “I’m on the guest list”. “Pssst. I’ve got two tickets for tonight”. “I’m here to see so and so backstage”.
One wonders if Walt and Gertie are not there to see a band like Curved Air or Humble Pie instead…..
