It’s an after-hours emergency clinic…they’re always more expensive than a usual visit to the vet. Alas, most communities also have only one of them, so shopping around at 3:00 in the morning usually isn’t an option.
I still think that Kitty caught her illness from Boogie Woogie…he must be a carrier.
The vets and the dog food makers are about to price people out of even owning pets. It’s getting very expensive, around here anyway.
I just adopted a dog from the pound and turns out she needs surgery for a hernia. So Rufus, I’m with you buddy. Let them set you up on payments. That way you can go in every month and see Dr. Managan.
I’m glad for that Chubsy Ubsy (are you Not Norman under a different name?) but I’ve heard of some who are NOT. Some will not treat the animal if you don’t have the money up front to pay for it, they won’t even wait for payday. More than one sick cat or dog has died because the vet refused to treat them even if the customer was a long time customer who had always paid. There should be a law against this kind of thing.
People from other places tell us things are more expensive here. A 16 pound bag of store brand dog food is $12. Cheapest canned dog food is $8.50 a case. Milk is $3.69 a gallon and up. If you get a box of cereal for less than $4, it’s a bargain.
Another thing, my avatar on here is a picture I had taken from JC Penney studios. Its too bad you can’t get a close up pic of him, but this picture was taken just before he went to the vet for an abscessed tooth as you can see his tooth sticking out in most of his pics. Guess how much that bill was? $789.00! It is too bad I can’t afford pet insurance, as I do have company paid insurance, but that has gotten worse in the past 5 years now. Deductibles have gone up, co-pay has gone up, premiums gone up, the only thing that has gone down is the coverage the insurance company pays.
Why don’t we keep the political talk on the SOTU comic? There’s places for that kind of thing. Especially the political talk which is just trying to start arguments? Yeah, yeah, I know I don’t have to read it. I don’t talk about Gasoline Alley on the editorial type comics, don’t bring your politics here.

No problem Rufus. Just have Scancarelli draw you up some money.

Isn’t that akin to ‘breaking the fourth wall’?

That seems like a lot of money, but I would trust in Dr. Managan’s expertise. Also, that diagnosis agrees with the black cat’s.

YIPES! What a ripoff! Even the human swine flu (H1N1) doesn’t cost that much. Rufus needs a second opinion for poor kitty. I hope she’ll recover OK.
A 45 yr old co worker had an H1N1 Vaccination yesterday @ 1100 @ 1145 he was in an ambulance headed for the hospital.
They can’t attribute it, but its one heck of a co-inkydink.
His ambulance ride is $1200

Stryper, I am also in the South, in a rural area that is not at all high income. People blame it on lack of competition. I blame it on greed.

$500? You can get a brand new cat for a lot less than that!
