When she finds them and the mess she can call for help.
Joe-Allen the above commentors where making an obvious comment.
When my son who is currently 27 was a little tyke, he got ahold of his baby vitiumns that’s suppose to be child proof and was out of reach but manage to do climbing and thought it was candy, I called the child Dr.’s office and talked to them cause I think he comsumed almost the whole bottle. They told me ipecat and stand by a toilet it would work fast. I wanted to see if my little boy would get hurt by all those pills they said yes. Short story neighbor watched him, I went to pharmacy, applied ipecat and everything came up.
Go get em Gertie! If you don’t use your bat, then when the police arrive they will use their batons for breaking and entering. Before the police haul them off, check their pockets! They might have taken some of Walt’s prized possessions.
The only hacks I expect to see tomorrow will be the hacking up of pie and the healthy hacks Gertie takes with her Louisville Slugger. I hope she goes 4 for 4, but I don’t read so much into these things as some do. Pedantic political correctness that reads all fiction as parable (or reality?)…. gak.
Devonshade,
Yes people can be hungry…it isn’t a crime.
There are social agencies to take care of that.
Breaking, entering, and stealing are not the legal solutions for the problem. By stealing from somebody else, you could put them into the same situation you are already in. There are all kinds of gov’t handouts, AND church groups that help feed the hungry. Soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc.

Now, who is going to clean up the messes? Will Gertie persuade them to do it?
(It is possible Gertie could be charged with assault, or she could be sued.)

Well..let’s see…if they each ate at least half of an ipecac laced pie…yeah, they are probably feeling violently ill right about now.

Devonshade - Poor or not not, they have no right to invade someone else’ domain. If they come into my house, they’ll get blown away by a .410.
