The artwork is terrific. So much detail. Do you recognize the log home construction? Instead of the traditional saddle-notch construction technique, it’s the less frequently used butt-and-pass construction. I hate showing off my knowledge about things like this. :-) But seriously, the detail is great.
BigGrouch…I have evolved my conception of Gasoline Alley as that of a “community”. I believe when Walt was young it was a more urban setting but over the years it became a less specific location and therefor allows a variety of settings for a range of characters.

Don’t parents usually go with the kid on the first day of a kids first experience of school?.

Good Rover. You’ve got a clue.

Not all kids have parents show up with them on the first day. They have usually been pre registered.

Thanks, Davidf42, I wouldn’t have known about that at all. Obviously Scancarelli must draw what he knows. Kudos to him!

I bet Rover will call Boog’s cell to make sure he’s ok…

What a beautiful spot. I read that Gasoline Alley was loosely based on Tomah, Wi. Rovers house looks right at home in the north woods.
