Getting old is not for wimps. But if you can maintain your health, it beats the alternative.

What’s a few grawlixes among friends?

Actually I didn’t know they had a name, and have been entertained to learn about them and squeans, quimps and nittles as well. Thanks, axe-grinder!

Except that the alternative comes. And so does the degradation of your body. Living to a ripe old age isn’t that good. So how do we exit when we want to? When we feel our best is slipping away. That is the problem

No problemo! Just go to the neighborhood Soylent plant!

What this strip really needs, Fangirl, is some briffits in place of Slim…

By the way, one of the funniest things concerning these special cartoon shorthands I ever saw was on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. A young lady was reading a Spider-Man comic aloud to another character, and she was puzzled by the squiggly lines around Spidey’s head. The cognescenti know they signify a tingling in his “spider-sense”– an early warning of danger. But she wondered, “So, what, does his head stink?”

Maybe you had to see it!
