As I stated in a previous post, these ARE the Wallets- or at least the current generation of them. Each generation centered on a couple — Walt and Phyllis, Skeezix and Nina and , currently, Clovia and Slim. Although we may dislike the stupidiity of Slim and the harshness of Clovia, they are not unlike Maggie and Jiggs, Blondie and Dagwood at least as they were protrayed years ago and tv sitcom characters like the bumbling Stu Erwin (who, inexplicably was supposed to be a High School principal) and his wife June, as well as the converse, Lucy and Ricky Ricardo and Joan and Brad Stevens (I Married Joan.)
Having let them age thus far, it seems unnatural to not let them die in a natural way. Phlyllis’s death was handled well. However, Stevero’s post does explain things well. I was wondering why Rufus didnt age. He should be about the same age as Skeezix, I would think.
I hope they have worked out their difficulties. I would like them to see them be less 2-dimensional, i.e., Slim not always stupid, and Clovia not always witchy. Actually, she isn’t today. She’s being nice to Rufus and funny, too. But like all couples, have their disagreement and their loving moments.
