To clear up some confusion, Skeezix is 91, born in 1921. He drove Slim. Walt is over 100. It’s interesting that Skeezix was wearing the dark jacket and red vest or sweater that Walt is often seen wearing. No, probably not the same garments. The question I have is, after sitting 8 years, will the pickup start, and if so, won’t many of the rubber parts including tires need replacement? Hope they get home without a flat.
Depends. I once had a roommate named Jack. I always assumed that his birth certificate said John, but it actually said Jackie. Parents could have named him Jimmy.
Man, you are right, that is Clovia! But she probably looks so rumpled only because she had stowed away in the car trunk for that long ride. Interesting, too, how much she resembles her dad there…

Reminds me of a song from the fifties or sixties. I think it was named, “Strange Things Happen.”

I’d like to have a GA jacket.

Walt has some good eyes. Look how far away he is in that last panel, a touch of x-ray vision as well.

Is the cemetery next to the house? We’ve never actually seen the pickup.

It’s still kinda wet. Now we know that that was Hurricane Sandy that they were experiencing last week when they picked up “Jimmy”.

I was close – six days ago I said the jacket would be folded on the grave.

I always thought Skeezix to be younger than 113 years. He’s a young WW2 vet like me and I’m 87 years old.

Walt is 113-or-so. His adopted son, Skeezix, is about 91.

Skeezix was born on 2/14/1921 – so he is a mere child of 91. Walt, Skeezix’ adoptive father is the one who is 113.

I believe it’s Walt who’s 113, not Skeezix.

It’s possible that his parents named him “Jimmy” when he was born. Not usual, but possible.
