Always a flattering way to say it gently“Speak the truth in love.”. Find a good point and use that. ",You know, you look so good in that color, you have beautiful eyes..but you know what ?? I don’t think that dress (or whatever) does you justice, honey. " It is the dress that is at fault, not the person. There are always clothes that make us look better. Find them.
Gweedo: I’m with you. Nothing is as bad as sticking it out with Clovia..gkid: Clovia would never return the favor for Slim. Her constant fat jokes on Slim are one reason I enjoy her vacations from the strip!.Last, and certainly least: As a rule, I have enjoyed each and every fantasy arc Jim has given us. That said, a weakness in the Rudolph arc last week was that, more than once, Rudolph was making fat jokes about Slim..Slim doesn’t need a fantasy where he is still the butt of all the fat jokes. All he needs is Clovia..At least, no sign of Dog-Zilla just yet..Or did I just jinx myself there, too?
A few years ago there was an ad where Mary Todd Lincoln asks Abe if this dress – a full hoops skirt with multiple petticoats – makes her behind look big. He said yes, when he should have said, “I think that’s the look the designer was going for.” So for Slim the correct answer should be, “I don’t know what that designer was thinking of, but that colour and that design would make any woman look fatter than she really is.”

Frankly, I appreciate it when my husband is honest and does say whether or not I look good in something. Usually I’m not so sure myself.
