Better let Nina have her way, Skeezix. It will save a lot of time!

I doubt if they can get a 36 inch stove without special ordering it or finding a used one. I don’t think they have been made for at least 30 and possible 50 years. Get ssome 1 × 6 and make a box to fill the hole.

30 in is the standard size today. The 36 in ones were the standard size in the 50’s! He could special order a 36 in stove. but I wouldn’t want to pay the bill for one. My 30 in gas stove has 4 big burners plus a long griddle burner down the middle. I love it :-)

It would be disconcerting to have that big gap, so I agree with Skeezix on this one. I still think he should call Joel to help him out. Joel didn’t stop by this morning. Perhaps this afternoon he may do so.

Yep, you gotta fill up the stove space, or the leftover side space gets full of stuff, and its hard to sweep it out or clean the floor there.

Per the picture on 09/05, the stove is free-standing. Maybe something on one side, but the other side is open, so a 30" should not be a problem.

This sounds like someone (names Skeezix) is going to be paying for new kitchen cabinets to fill in that 6 inch gap. Of course you can’t do just one….
