Maybe this is why Jeff never revealed his last name. Although he might have hinted at it… “just Jeff—first and last and always it’s Jeff”. The Alpha and Omega, and eternal… (We’d better hope that Othello Jeff was a pseudonym, because that hints in the other direction – I don’t like the look of what comes immediately after the ‘Ot’ and before the last ‘o’!)

You can’t keep a good comic character down.

@Bigger J: In M&J’s early days, Jeff had escaped from a mental institution, and believed himself to be Thomas Jefferson. As that storyline faded into obscurity, he was thereafter referred to only as “Jeff”.
