I think Frank belongs in the “Old Character Actors Home,” trading lines with Franklin Pangborn, Billy Gilbert, and Gabby Hayes.

Pardon if this has already been asked and answered, but does anyone know the name of the actor who played that rude sales guy? He used to be on the various Lucille Ball shows all the time, and I think some other old black and white tv shows. I can read all these strips with his exact voice and mannerisms, and I’ve heard lots of cartoon voice actors over the years that use an impression of his voice for the same sorts of characters. He became the archetype of rude, sarcastic salespeople in all entertainment.

OR – could it be the Pye brothers haven’t made it to the pawn shop yet? That could set up a switch-er-roo scenario where they get the gold-colored cane and Walt is reunited with the real thing.

@JP Steve, I remember Gale Gordon as Mr. Mooney, the bank manager, and Lucy’s boss. He wasn’t the same type as Frank Nelson. Rather, he played the grouchy, abusive, greedy boss type who was always threatening to fire Lucy and would never give her a raise.
