This is more interest in Rufus than Miss Melba has shown in years. ✨

Wrong hair color again. Any woman I have seen with that color has been 60s on up in age.

How old is Miss Melba? Is this a set up to her giving up hair color and going natural? :-)

The Wallet family ages. The supporting characters don’t. Rufus looks younger than he did in 1964. Melba is probably in her mid thirties.

Will Miss Melba believe Rufus is trying to insult her?

I said this a few days ago, but it seems a better fit for today, from the comments about the characters’ age:

One day, years ago, there was a strip where Rufus and Miss Melba looked older than they do today. Rufus wrote a poem, in which he said he realized he and Melba had become seniors. He realized he and Melba would never be married. It was best if he stopped pursing her.

Melba got hit with the ugly stick since yesterday. BTW, her hair is blonde on other sites.

If Rufus was used to looking Melba in the eyes he would know if it is really her.
