Maybe Slim’s remark wasn’t the smartest of things … but it got his point across. As a bonus, it’s good to see the ‘Frank’ character taken aback and surprised! :)
I have a doppelganger (he’s a cousin about the age as me) who works assorted part time jobs around town, including at a chip wagon that goes from event to event, and retail at Canadian Tire. i work retail at a bulk food store and hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t ask me when I started working my current job. He almost cost me a girlfriend one night. I don’t drive and I had just started dating a woman who worked the drive through at a Tim Horton’s coffee/doughnut shop, and he came through that night and she was positive that he and I were the same person.
About 20 years ago I was filling in for a few months as the building manager at the apartment complex where I was living at the time. I rented an apartment to this young immigrant woman and gave her her keys around 9 am. I went to my regular retail job a few hours later, and she came in to buy some groceries and I helped her find what she needed and then because the other cashier was busy I rang her through as the second cashier. Later still i went to a grocery store to do some shopping for myself and someone i knew as a customer from my store asked me to help them get something that was too high for them to reach on the shelf, just as this same, non-English speaking woman went past. I’m sure she thought I worked everywhere in the city after that day.

In their Hamburg days, The Beatles had some trouble with their name, since it sounds like “peedle,” a German slang term for a body part.

Is that Frank Finney Key? I was actually looking for Ponshock absorbers and thought their might be a mechanic here.
