Go back to sleep, we want more of this Fractured Fairy Tale version of “This is Your Life, Walt Wallet”!

Kitty is settled at the Jones’ now, and Joel is left to impart his wisdom and comfort Rufus, as all he has to come home to now is an empty shack and an cold, iron deer.

I bet Pert raised the rent 25¢ a week because the deer classed up the joint, 51 years ago today in the Alley:

Invitation reminder – Anyone who is interested in following the “original” Gasoline Alley strips is welcome to request membership in the “Alley Cats of Gasoline Alley” group on Facebook. All that is required is a response of at least a few words to a simple screening question. Please join us there for discussion about the classic strips. In the meantime, thank you to Jim S. for this current arc – we love it!

How did Gertie meet up with young Walt? Maybe she’s the spirit of time?

Whew! I’m glad he woke up – maybe the dream will come back when he takes a nap.

Is he experiencing sundown syndrome? Part of the symptoms is hallucinations.

I’ll just point out that while Gertie looks like Gertie, Walt still looks like around 50-year old Walt here.

Which suggests that either he’s still in the dream (my guess), or this is the result of a reboot where we get a younger, more-active Walt (less likely… for example, would Phyllis come back?)

Brenda’s late to work, and Tom Taylor gets wind of Pesky’s experimental leg paint – that’s all he needs to rush over and ride to our Starr reporter’s rescue!

Meanwhile “Slim” Nolan bemusedly looks on at all this commotion and fussing, knowing a capable woman can look after herself.

Elegant Mess and the Unmentionables clean up another town, to the delight of Rick, the PTSD of Horse’s Neck, and the good fortune of TV undertakers.

But then Stan Lynde gives the Time Tunnel a vigorous spin, and Conniption is the next town up!

It’s a bunch of cops from the 1930s, living in the 1960s, heading back to meet the citizens of the 1870s! But that’s shore one sweet ride…

…and Walt returns home to the his caretaker, the vaguely-racist Mammy stereotype (which BTW could’ve been avoided if she’d call him “Walt” or “Mr. Wallet” rather than using the servant-speak she is now.)

I’m thinking of writing a GA movie script. I’d think actor Paul Vogt would make a great Uncle Walt.

You would think he would have mistaken her for Rachel, rather than his late wife.
