Did I just see P.T.’s head snap out of its stupor at the sight of his shaggy heroes ?  LOL !

“SIGH”—I guess this the start of a new story arc—one starring those two dumb rubes.

I would have preferred a continuation of the current arc, where the girls (especially Ida Noe) tell “Mister Uncle Walt” about their going back to 1863, and meeting Walt’s ancestor. I’d have loved to have seen his reaction!!

Rufus and Joel sitting in the rain? Seems about right!

Joel and Rufus appear right on time.

It’s raining cats and dogs, and there are poodles all over the ground.

Woah, Nellie!!!!! …. er, Betsy!

Could it actually be that the arc of the anamatronic doll is concluding?

And….. even more shocking and potentially wonderful…… might we be starting an arc that features our stalwart hero, the pipe-smoking, professorial sage, Joel?!?!?!?!?!?

I can only hope that what I see in today’s comic IS showing the wonderful transition I had only imagined as possible!!!!!

If this is true, there are a few caveats I would like to add/suggest:

1. HOPEFULLY, the true feature will be ABOUT Joel…. not doofus-Rufus.

2. Joel, very kindly, is a good friend to Rufus, and since I suspect Rufus will be involved…. let us hope that Rufus will not treat Joel poorly as he has done a few times in the past.

3. I also hope that this arc is good and long!

This makes me want to take a celebratory swig from Joel’s jug myself, in anticipation of the potential fun ahead!
