This little defenseless bird is all mine!! Okay… let’s revise the “defenseless” part. (¿Cómo Gaturro se va a liberar del árbol?)

MARY WORTH: While explaining to his wife that his job kept him away from her in evening, Dr. Ned has co-opted the title of another comic written by Ms. Johnston.

GATURRO: When the bough bends, the kitty may fall…

MARY WORTH: For Better or Worse? Ned’s wife is getting “the worse”…but far beyond the legitimate work-related reasons “Dr. Cad” is implying.

REX MORGAN: Is Rex referring to the protagonist of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ stories? Didn’t a reference to ERB come up in this strip once before?

CRANKSHAFT/LILLIAN: Huh? Is the book discussion group going from James Joyce’s “Ulysses,” to Margaret Wise Brown’s children’s picture book? There are many wonderful books to read and discuss, without going to these two extremes! …..TEH?

Gaturro – My first thought was that the tree and the bird were defying gravity, but I now believe that Gaturro’s own weight is his downfall.

Crankshaft – This group should at least be able to handle YP fiction, which is sometimes quite good. I recommend “Wonder”.

Mary Worth – More confirmation of his character. The nerve of him, reminding his wife of her marriage vows.

PHANTOM: Is he going to distract him with the brick and then hit him with his fist? You know he isn’t going to shoot him.

    REX MORGAN: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

MARK TRAIL: Doesn’t the sheriff think the horses will last?

    MARY WORTH: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
