I have no idea why this is funny, but since it’s Bucky and Satchel I’ll assume it is and move on. Satchel does have a certain “Cute” quality in the first panel.
Johnny Fever, the morning DJ on WKRP in Cincinnati, was famously fired from his last job for saying an inappropriate word on live radio. It was believed by the audience, naturally, to be one of the 7 words (George Carlin). The word, of course, was booger.
I LOVED WKRP, AS DID GROG, MY FELLOW BABY! Yeah some kind of deal about Copyrights lost the original music, ONE OF THE BEST was when Little Arthur came back from Military School and they played the theme from PATTON, the new music they put in made that whole scene go from A to ZERO! That theme song made the SKIT HILIARIOUS in it’s original form!
Yeah, that’s our Johnny alright. Venus was probably off peeling potatoes for the army at the time. And it certainly wasn’t Bobby Boogy. My favorite was the second part of a a 2 parter where a sleeze sells photos of Jennifer to a nudie rag. Johnny plays Philipe and Baily plays Ginger. Hilarious and even funnier than when Johnny, AC and Venus try to Watergate it.
Our Seattle paper stopped running Get Fuzzy daily. Said the writer had stopped making new strips. They still run the Sunday strip though. I hadn’t heard that Darby had quit writing? They replaced it with that dorky Wumo. They quit running Mutts a few years ago, glad I can get it in my e-mail it’s one of my favorites.

Bucky, like most felines, is just a natural tease. And he always makes me laugh.

You weren’t allowed to say “booger” on the radio at one time. @magic – You can watch the entire WKRP on HULU Any episode, any time you want for free.

I still don’t get it [Darby isn’t Canadian is he – that would make this extremely crude; should not have got past the censors]

I doubt that it was “booger” that Johnny Fever said.

Ahh … the “booger week”. This one made me smile—for some odd reason, come to think of it.
