This sounds like a bit from the movie “Airplane”. He’s in the hospital. The hospital? What is it??Well, its a big building with doctors and nurses and patients, but that’s not important right now.
Watching that movie was often like watching a Tex Avery cartoon brought to live action. And it could only have been done with actors like Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack and (believe it or not) Leslie Nielsen who had spent their entire careers playing straight dramatic roles in movies and on TV. The sequel just wasn’t as funny.
I saw the movie Airplane on a first date when it came out. She was beautiful…But she didn’t think it was funny, she thought it was dumb…..Me? I was rocking back and forth in the isle in fetal position laughing uncontrollably….. Never saw her again…..
ohhhh….. I so want to go play with that ball of yarn @Jo Clear (aka: Grasshopper) mentioned. … But it keeps unraveling.then there is – and don’t call me Shirley.

Satchel likes to stick the knife in slowly, and then give it several twist.

I think that Satchel has Asperger’s syndrome. One of the symptoms is taking everything “VERY” literally.

I am suddenly reminded of the guy on youtube who thinks planes are holograms. With demons.

Loved your strip since it began. But Satchel using words like “multinational” and “factoid”? I think you’re losing your characters a bit these days…

Sarcasm… at its densest and most basic level. otherwise known as deceptive witticism?

This is exactly why idioms give newcomers to the English language such trouble. I am poaching this for my ESL class – it will be educational AND fun.
