Dubai has the tallest building in the world now. The Willis tower isn’t even the tallest building in the United States anymore. That would be 1 World Trade Center in NYC, although that is also because of the antenna structure on top which architects decided was integral to the structure. Stanky would really flip out about that I’m guessing.
Satch said the closet expansion didn’t rate with the Petronas towers – implying they were big, if not the biggest. Mr. Wrong is whacking away at the eternal architectural question, when is a tower (or spike) an “integral part of the structure” and when is it a bid to add a few metres so as to claim some dubious, short-lived record.
like sticking a little model of billy penn at the top of some of the new towers in philly, to somehow balance out surpassing the statue on top of city hall. doesn’t work. oh well

Wikipedia says the Petronas Towers were only the tallest in the world from 1998 to 2004.

And the Sears Tower has been the Willis Tower since 2009.

Actually he had a point. Remember this being pointed out when I went to Sears Tower (was 2003). Also this strip is dated 2007.

I bet you the fat lip is cantilevered.

Do people actually call the Sears Tower the Willis Tower, though?

Look at Bucky in the last panel. For once he might know when to be quiet.

To most of us who live in Chicago, it is still “Sears Tower”.

That’s why God made the ‘back’ button.

This is why I try to keep my mouth shut on Facebook—too many aggressive people like Bucky’s friend.

Same argument applies for One World Trade Center. Take off the 400 ft spire and it’s shorter than Big Willy

@Charlie149
Yes that would be Wright. Cannot believe I missed a pun. No one that knows me would believe it.

Why do people open and close the quotes before the quoted word has been reached? It doesn’t make any "" sense.
