NASA supposedly once issued a bulletin that stated, after analysis of all the information available from decades of space probes, that they ruled out the possibility of intelligent life anywhere in our solar system.
That’s been my motto (well, one of them) for as long as I can reliably remember: “There is no reason to assume that we will find intelligent life on other planets. We still haven’t found any on this one.”
