    In some places “your plates” would be your family members. I think that ‘China’ is in reference that maybe the dog has some Asian breed in him. And gormy may mean that the dog is slow to get things.

    I understood everything, but the exact meaning of “gormy”. I thought of “gormless”, meaning “lacking in intelligence”, which, as it turns out is pretty much what “gormy” means…
