Uncle Grandpa is an actual show on Cartoon Network. Every time I look at it I think, “Just how high were the animators when they created the show?”

Honestly, UG is a breath of fresh air with a cartoon that just doesn’t take itself seriously and just has dumb fun with the premise, I can see why Gil enjoys it’s for sure not the best show around but far from the worst.

I don’t know “Uncle Grandpa.” I will look it up. But when I saw the face conjured by Gil I thought, “Don Martin. ‘MAD Magazine.’ Fifty years ago.” DM also was zany and illogical and one of my faves.

Uncle Grandpa is great. Now Breadwinners, that’s a real mess.

I am as bad as anyone about the Good Old Days of Bugs and Road Runner, Chuck Jones and Friz Freling -era cartoons, and the goofball drawing (are anyone’s eyes ever the same size?) and frenetic pace are to me off-putting, but as with modern pop music, I’m not the target audience. I will say the modern Mickey Mouse cartoons, with all of the above characteristics, are actually pretty good. And, of course, SpongeBob.
