Will there even be cars in 50 years? Well.. probably. We asked that same question 50 years ago, as I recall. “Nope. Nothing but jet packs and monorails.”
Beautiful car.My dad had that exact same car when I was a kid.(I know, dating myself)Brings back a ton of memories. On the weekends during summer, road trips that lasted all day. Thanks
I remember my mom driving a car that looked similar to that. It was gray and yellow. And Gil, you’ll be surprised when you’re older as to what is considered a “cool classic.” As we kids were entering puberty we thought those Chevys looked dumb!
The first thing I spotted when I opened this page was that classic 57…and my reaction was exactly the same as Gil’s…“Whoa!” :-) My dad had a 57 Chevy wagon, cream and bronze. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Norm!
A 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air! My mother owned a 1955 Bel-Air in yellow. She had it all the way until 1963 when she bought a ’63 Ford Country Sedan station wagon.
Nice Chevy Norm, dad bought one that color in ‘59. It was a four door Bel Air hardtop with the white roof. I had a black 2 door Bel Air post with a white top in ’69. Everything looks the same today. That’s what we call progress these days.

The future will have a great veneration for cars as seen in the documentary Fury Road.

Except for being a four-door, mine looked just like that—same colors and all.
