He’ll yell at you until his hair completely changes color (see Sept 6-7 strips for comparison). Plus in P2 he hurt his hand when it got hit by his own sound effect from P1.
Milford’s defense gets “Deked” again. Longtime readers: Assuming Milford loses, will this be the worst team Gil has ever had? I’ve been reading about 10 years, or ever since it went on the Internet, and I don’t recall the Mudlarks being winless after this many games.
Yes, kdizzle, the stress of this game has turned Deke’s head white in just one half. He really should go back to coaching Pop Warner. He can’t handle the stress.
Thorp strip’s about 53, 54 years old — and he wasn’t an assistant coach when it began. I believe GilPa and Paterno came into coaching around the same time.
OK… so this story line builds up to an uncharacteristic, yet decisively crazy blow up by the mysterious Manchurian Coach. Another story line with a speedy end?
The players ought to worry less about Coach Deke and more about their poor play! Wildcat will like the fire & passoin from Coach Deke. Another reason to can sleepwalking Gil.
The problem here is too many story lines. We go from Wildcat trying to put his puppet in to Deke wanting Gil’s job, to a losing season because of no kicker and a kid who may or may not kick. By the time they develop the story for each just an inch forward (two weeks on each plot) it is a month before we see a story line again!

If Gil’s been coaching 45 yrs, maybe the game has passed him by and he needs to retire.

Coach Davey is obviously getting ready for his Woody Hayes moment, but can we at least agree that the guy has one fine looking set of teeth.

They were 2-7 back in the early ’90s I believe, but never winless.

You know their going to win some games, when the kid starts kicking field goals. Otherwise; what was the point of bringing him into the story?

Davey is gunning for the Penn State vacancy and the Milford clan is making it difficult for him….
