Amy! Yes, this chopper in front of the plate is for you! Some fulfillment of eternal love this is. Of course, tomorrow we might see the umpire call it foul.
Ironic that “Woody” commented yesterday on an aluminum bat going “Krak!” LOL! It’s little things like that that make me assume the writers have little in the way of a sports background. Dang it! There’s a “turle” crawling across my keyboard!
I think desertdwlr has it right. Luckey’s kind of luck to get conked in the head and start the winning sequence. Start spraying the root beer! We’re #2! (tied that is)
Thanks to BlueDarter for the late in the day comment yesterday. Obviously, CheezWhiz didn’t grow up playing sandlot and or Little League. Anyone who knows me personally and my background would not make that comment. However, this is a free country. On to more important things. Romero’s throw is wide, pulling the 1st baseman off and Lucky inadvertantly hits him and knocks the ball loose….another week of drama.
Bad throw to first, Lucky heads to second, another error into the outfield, a close throw to the plate and Lucky has an infield chopper homer (sort of).
Well it looks like it won’t be a double play like I thought since the throw is going to first, which means only one thing. It will be a wild throw to tie the game and then the next batter will drive him in. Luckey’s lucky again! (barf)No barfing when you read MUT however.
Tragically, due to the slow passage of sports seasons in Milford, the entire curling team drowned today, pulled to the bottom of the lake by their heavy stones. “Maybe we should have seen it coming,” said Milford AD Gil Thorp, “but it’s really too damn cold to go curling in February, plus that match against Goshen lasted four weeks anyhow.”
Although there is a lot of competition, the ending to this story line gets my vote for least satisfying of recent (last 10+ years) stories. You know it’s bad when you starting wishing for something like a peacock or wrestling stories.
At multiple points during a year I ask myself, “Can this strip sound to any deeper depths of badness?” Unfortunately the answer is always, “Yes, with the next story line.”

Yah, it hasn’t healed a bit since the identical Moon shot was used on March 1 with a basketball court backdrop.

There’s a chopper in front of the plate? I hope Lucky ducks on his way to first.

I thought I heard Wagner – it’s Kilgore and the Air Cavalry coming to take Luckey out – “I love the smell of root beer in the morning”

A chopper in front of the plate is Lucky’s idea of “I got this?”
Man his horizons have lowered.

In all reality, why is Luckey carrying his bat on his shoulder as he breaks for first ?
Mr Reality over 10 years ago
In all reality, Marty should have said , Romero exercises his 2nd Amendment rights and guns it to first.

Today is Thursday. Watch this all wind up by the second panel in Saturday’s strip and Milford missed playoffs again.
Third panel Saturday will start summer sequence.

They already missed the playDOWNs, only the league champ ever makes the postseason in Gil Thorp’s world.
