These narcissistic Baders are the least likeable characters I have ever seen. Mom needs to learn how to hold a cell phone.

Those jail uniforms must be pretty old. That Nehru style went out back in the 1960s. But then, this is Milford.

It makes scene now, Barry inherited not only his cocky attitude, but also delusional outlook on life from his father. From yesterday’s strip: I think it should be Gil or Kaz to first give young Bader a reality check before asking the boyfriend of the girl who died to stand up for the arrogant jerk.

This story line gives the term “endless summer” a whole new meaning…

Time for this story to suffer the death penalty before we all endure a life sentence. What happened to the great summer story lines at camp, on the golf course, recruiting Gill to coach college etc?

Yesterday Mrs. B said “I’ll accept it.” Today she said “I’ll accept, operator.” So clearly there were two separate calls. Who is the mystery caller from yesterday? Is the plot thickening? Do the Baders also have a pool? Is Pedro out of town?

Speaking of golf E.B., Delbert resembles Bogie. Del- “Of all the gin joints in Milford, I had to wobble outta that one.” Ella- “You had me at Tally Ho.”

Yesterday Gil was talking out his arse and today Mrs. Bader is listening with her eyes.

Mrs. Bader seemed much happier yesterday before she found out it was Dell on the line.

Del in P3, Oh and Hon, I wouldn’t get too attached to that nice house you’re in. It’s gonna be quite a few years before I’ll be able to make the payments again.

And that must be one of those new (In 1968) Slimline pay phones Del’s using in P3. Exact change only.

Seeing that “County Jail” jumper makes me think of the king and the party they’ll be throwing. Wonder if old Del will be that prisoner beginning to wail or the one with the wooden chair.

He might have knocked Boo into the kill zone, but his vehicle didn’t kill her. where the heck is the pickup driver? But technically I guess you could say he put her in a position to be killed.

This has been a fun story line. It beats most of the previous summer stories and could rank as one of the best if young Bader can ever grasp reality or, at least, be subjected to a swirly…..

It’s always the other persons fault. The judge etc, It’s not the fact his dad couldn’t stay away from the drink, and call a taxi.

You could feel bad for Barry, but they are to blind to see where the problem is. That is with Del.

I’m confused. Is sentencing in Milford a zero-sum game? Why would the fact that the pickup truck driver will likely serve less than the maximum jail time be relevant to Del’s own sentencing?

Time to cue Jim Croce: "Learned to take the blow, learned to fake it well, but it just isn’t real, that’s not the way it feels. sob, sob, weep. To the loyal posters who put up with this: Thank you for your time, you’ve been so much more than kind

I get what you’re saying. It’s like, someone died so we need at least 5 years of jail time. If pickup driver gets 4 years, then Del only gets 1. But if pickup driver gets no time, then Del gets 5. And speaking of getting, it’s time you be getting today’s Mopped Up Thorp. (Grammar apologies.)But yeah, in all reality the two cases would be tried separately anyway, and I don’t think at his trial Del’s lawyer would argue, “well pickup driver got a long sentence, so that means he was to blame, not my client.”

The drunk driver caused the accident, there would have been no one for the pickup to hit if Bader hadnt knocked her into the other lane.

In the color version Bader’s suit is this ugly mustard yellow. It makes him look like one of those evil Japanese Imperial Army soldiers from WWII.
