I’m telling you, they did this Girl Footballer in the 1970’s. Only that girl actually could play and was a starter – I seem to recall she was even the quarterback. IIRC she even got a sport scholarship and showed up post-graduation briefly.

Working hard for months? Two a days started Sept 9 when that True/Boo storyline finally wrapped up. Not even two months really.I knew Marjie would get the scoop, I bet suspicious girl from yesterday tipped her off.

In all reality , the other blonde girl from yesterday is Heather’s evil twin sister who lives with their Mom after their parents divorce . The storyline will be that Heather will discover that she has à twin sister, they become friends and plot to get Mom and Dad back together .Just like Haley Mills did in The Parent Trap. I hear " Let’s Get Together " playing.Heather will coach up her twin to become starting QB in the “Big Game” !

Heather is manifesting some guilt about her poor work ethic as a soccer player. Wonder how the team is doing without her?

3rd string tight end? WTF? Why was it such a big emergency that they had to add her in the first place? Most high school teams are lucky to have two. And how many people go to Milford anyway. They have 5 QB’s and had 3 tight ends, hell Alabama probably doesn’t have that many of either and they dress about 100 players for each game. This story gets sillier by the day

P-1: Hmm, Heather = H.E.. Holmes you astound me! P-2: Heather knows all about Ms. Ducey. No means NO! P-3: as butch as Heather feels in a football uniform, Ms. Ducey, standing so close Heather can smell her pheromones, makes her break out in an uncomfortable sweat. OR “Heather, you know there are products for teenage acne.”

Any of you former football players remember the third-stringers ever getting into a game? They didn’t at my school. I was a third-string lineman as a freshman. Never got off the bench once.

Argh! I agree Starfish. They were in a big panic because they no longer had a tight end and now we learn there are 2 guys that were already on the team that are tight ends. And she’s worse than both of them so WHY WAS IT AN EMERGENCY TO FIND SOMEONE? And again, as far as the 5th string quarterback, I’m giving them leeway on that because my take on it was Gil was not being serious calling him 5th string. It was more of a “yeah, you’re pretty far down the depth chart, don’t expect ever to play.”

I’m on my way to Indianapolis for the Monumental Marathon on Saturday, so no MUT today or tomorrow. I’ll catch up late Sunday or Monday. Carry on with the snarkiness while I’m gone!

So does arms-folded girl actually work for Marjie or are we to believe she’s just some random student who called the paper’s tip-line?

You may be a third string TE Heather, but those are some first class clichés you’re spouting off.

It doesn’t matter if she’s third string TE or Student Trainer, is she really supposed to just walk off the field to talk to a reporter in the middle of practice? (To steal a line from a first string commenter), in all reality, Gil or one of his henchmen should be throwing Ducey off the field. Or alternative comment, Ms. Ducey quickly learns that the low angle, up-the-skirt shot doesn’t work as well on H.E. as it does with the boys on the team.

The whole strip is weak. How can the Ms. Ducey says “word has it”. She is looking right at her in uniform, so there is no “word has it”. Also by the time they the reporter gets near Heather, she either towels dry or the sweat dries. It’s October and not 100 degrees. Third string is not to be ashamed of. “Only third string” is a proud accomplishment if your a girl and skinny. Not sure where chiphilton got the weight, but if that’s true she is not the usual 120# girl one normally sees.

@wmac8898: It doesn’t work well in a comic strip either. Not that I looked or anything…

P-2: Marjie needs a sex education class. Footballs, Milford or not, do not have reproductive abilities. So no a football did not have a girl. If it had Ellisburkes or Chiphilton would be recommending Pink for the ball’s stripes.

Being old timer’s, is Marjie’s dad named Vern? Is the story line taking a turn to concentrate on “My Little Marjie”? Are R&W using an alternative spelling to throw us off? Is that how Gail Storm would look with shoulder length blond hair? Inquiring minds want to know.

My HS football coach once kicked a female reporter off the practice field by telling her to “…get your candy ass the hell outta here…I said no interviews during practice…” This was, of course, during the 70’s.

P1- R & W going almost upskirt with Marjie Ducey to improve ratingsP2- Marjie has had a makeover since we last saw her, looking like she is ready for FOX network.

Wasn’t Ducey a big proponent of budding folk singer Al-Jo “whatever her name was” about 5 years ago? What happened to her? Still playing the Milford coffee house circuit?

@ cuttersjock: before someone beats me: She had a male offspring that went on to fame and fortune. Didn’t you ever hear of Al-Jo’s son? My apologies to Mr. Peabody and Sherman.
