Truly devoted? You show up when they tell you to show up. I can’t think of anyone I played with who would have said, “Ah, the hell with it. I’m not practicing that early.”
What if Gil and Kaz threw a party and nobody showed? I know I always hated those 6am practices, but hey, you got to sacrifice. The before school showers ought be fun though.
I’m still sticking to my theory that the tall goofy kid at the rave in P2 yesterday is the new star. I can see him rolling out of the smoke filled van like Spiccoli now.
Those sippy cups look like Marty’s. GilPa & Kaz must have lost their mugs. Since Keurig’s won’t be around for 3 more decades, GilPa liked that new Mr. Coffee commercial starring the Yankee Clipper, dipped into the Athletic Dept. General Fund and spent $24.95.
What kind of incompetent is this Thorp guy? After almost 50 years, I think he would know the sports schedules when school starts. So what happens in the spring when the baseball diamond is reserved for a Babe Ruth League tryout? Don’t you think the coach would reserve his assets during the first week of classes? Meanwhile in Central City…
You have to get up early in the morning to…The early Mudlark catches the bounce pass…Early to bed, early to rise makes a Mudlark wealthy, healthy, and those are lies…Cause I’m the Duke of Early…
anyone who’s ever practiced any sport at 6 am knows that it takes your brain 20 minutes or so to wake up. Additionally it takes your body 20 minutes to get ready. You need at least a half hour to stretch out and warm up before you can start practicing drills and plays. I don’t know about the rest of you guys but I did not live one block from the school. I live 3 miles from the school and have to wait for the school bus. My parents did not want to get up at 4:30 to drive me to school. Don’t forget breakfast. And having a strenuous workout soon after breakfast is not good for anyone. So the school has so much money it’s going to be able to afford two routes of schoolbuses one for the basketball team at 5 am to pick these guys up and one route for the rest of the school. This strip would be so much more fun if we didn’t have so many obvious holes in it get all of us are picking up on
The gym was spoken for? Who is it dating, the cafeteria? Or one of the other Valley gyms maybe. Hope it’s not their arch rival, although that would make it a Romeo and Juliet type story. And it wouldn’t even be the craziest storyline for this strip.
Well today looks like the writers are just stalling for time before starting the EXCITING REALISTIC winter story. And speaking of stalling, no more stalling before reading today’s Mopped Up Thorp:

P2, the flat way that the coffee was drawn looks more like a hip flask. “Let’s see who’s truly dedicated to getting sloshed this early!”

Looks like Kaz is showing Gil where his “lower unit” will be once he starts on his “journey!”

The real mystery is how those Central City ravers were able to book the Milford gym.

R&W have missed out on a potentially lucrative product placement payment on the coffee cups.

I’ve heard people say, “That’s the booze talking.” But in P2 it looks like the coffee is doing the talking

While it was nice for Kaz to pick Gil up coffee, it wasn’t nice of him to place his rear on the end of his desk and break wind.

I disagree. It would be much less fun.
