Wait a minute. Yesterday they were playing against Wellington. Today they’re playing against Ellington. Yes, I realize Dukes are involved with both names, but what’s going on?
At least we have a reasonable-looking baseball swing being drawn today. And Gil has the team playing against the combined Ellington/Wellington squad so he can sell more of those GIL mugs out of the trunk of his car ( the Bentley GT) to the overflow crowd.
What a bizarre game! They start out playing baseball, a track meet breaks out, and today the opponents are practicing their chipping. Tomorrow should have a reference to diving or swimming. We already had a tennis reference at the soda shop (Love all).
Wow, Pelweckie knocked the cover and several layers off of that ball compared to the one in P2. And that fielder is really going to look foolish when that ball bounces past him the other way after it hits the border between frames.
Nice to see Gil wrapping up this season’s coaching on opening day. Watch the runner. Gotta go.

Do the writers not know baseball terms? A rally indicates the team has come back. You don’t have a rally in the 1st inning.
