In all reality , Banner headline on today’s Milford Daily MilfordIan – Thorp Called Un American by Former VFW Comander . Former Milford VFW Comander has called Milford Coach Gil Thorp Un American for his refusal to let Milford teen singing sensation Rick Soto sing the National Anthem before an upcoming game . " I question Thorp’s patriotism and his love of his country stated the former Comander Audey Murphy . It’s a shame that this injured player who wants to do something patriotic can’t because this former draft dodger of a football coach won’t let him. Thorp was unavailable for comment .
All this “let him sing”…and yet, you know on Monday when Gil says something to Rick, he’ll be saying that he’s not interested, as nobody has even asked him if he wants to sing yet. Which kind of makes this arguing dumb. Which isn’t unusual for this strip.

Have any of you ever seen anyone stand in the position like they’ve drawn Gil in panel two? That is one odd stance when you really look at it. Looks like in a few more panels he’ll have morphed into Joe Cocker.
