Why would you ask your QB during school if he could try punting? What makes you think he’s a punter? And wouldn’t it be easier to, oh, I don’t know, ask him to punt a couple of balls during practice and see how he does? In fact just have everyone give it a shot?
When I first read P1 I was thinking, who is the massively tall player? Finally realized it is supposed to be Kaz. So is Filion something like 5’6"? Not desirable to have that short a punter.
So there’s a kid that “used to be a good punter”, and he is now in high school. So he was a good punter in middle school or something, and for some reason people know that?
I was watching a top 25 college game last weekend, I think Oregon v Stanford, and one team’s QB punted…twice. I think it’s more likely that a QB could long snap. It’s just throwing a ball between your legs instead of standing up.
…and they should just go for 2 after TDs. There’s no shame in that. Former Ohio State coach, Woody Hayes, when once queried by a reporter why he went for 2 in a lopsided win against Michigan, said “because I couldn’t go for 3”.

Could it be…Joe Bolek? No one saw this coming.

P1, I kinda sorta inadvertently called this Joe Theisman twist to the story a few weeks back.
P2, I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy. . .
P3, Kaz is smart, not like they all say!

Nice to see they didn’t pull Mike Filion out of class the way the coaches usually do.

Adding punting to his responsibilities as QB. But hey, if it doesn’t work out, he can always try long snapping.

Kaz showing off his degree in Pretzel Logic by following that third level complicated (for him) conversation.

P1- Confab. Having a private informal conversation. In between classes.
P2- This dialogue is truly Milford Masterpiece Theatre.
P3- What would a mediocre teen soap opera be without a steady diet of angst and the Big Loofah?

Again, why not tell your quarterback to stop with the three and outs so the punt team isn’t required.

Maybe he played a punter in one of his you tube videos?
