P1: Gil gives a nod to Marty Moon, seems they are both sipping from a huge hip flask of whiskey to get through the ordeal of talking to parents. Marty keeps hitting on Marj. He says her swan-like neck is so alluring.
Well that was nice of them to answer my question yesterday about the school providing lunch. Must be a lot of well-off parents to be able to afford providing lunch for like 50 people.
Half the team, plus Douchey, are out for the next few days as they recover from botulism, because some of the parents prepared the food in an unsanitary environment and then allowed it to sit in the hot sun, while flies sat on the uncovered food, passing off whatever bacteria they carry to whoever ate it.
What about a sloppy joe can possibly be “amazing”? If it was a Yelp review it would be written with extra As. “The sloppy Joe’s at the Milford practice were amaaaaaazing!”
P4- Nick Gilder crooning and serenading Marjie. "So young to be loose and on her own.Young boys they all want to take her home. When she comes downtown the boys all stop and stareWhen she comes downtown she walks like she just don’t care.Yeah.
Hot child in the city.Hot child in the city.Runnin’ wild and lookin’ pretty, yeah.Hot child in the city."
You know who’s not glad we kept the tradition? Moi! You know what a pain in the ass it is to lug those huge banquet tables to the football field? And then have to fancy them up with tablecloths? And who do you suspect has to drag everything back into the school and clean up? Not that my opinion matters, but what’s wrong with EATING IN THE DAMN CAFETERIA where the tables are already there and there are electrical outlets for food warmers and freaking refrigerators? Which reminds me…who has to carry all the drinks out to the field too?
And speaking of tradition, at this point it is traditional to point out that the daily edition of Mopped Up Thorp is now online: https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/
FYI Marj: A couple of parents added an ounce or so of weed to everything they cooked! Marj ends up stopping at Swifty Mart on the way home to eat 4 roll-around hotdogs and a Mountain Dew.
I’ve been wishing I had Sloppy Joes scheduled for supper tonight since first seeing this earlier this morning. Thanks a lot. I did season some steaks to be grilled last night. I guess that will have to do.

I’m keeping hope alive that this new football story isn’t full-bore like the Hadley/Jaquan summer story was. I’ll take half-bored.

Is this year’s arc about the family restaurant suppling the Sloppy Joe’s?? Or the sophomore tailback?
