Still not forgiven, Gil. A real teacher would have called out the school board, just as real parents would have sued them. You should retire, and the school board should be sued and humiliated.
A little known codicil in the Faber College constitution would have automatically put Mike Knappe on double secret probation. Bluto never needed a knife, much less, other utensils.
Tomorrow’s National Milford Enquirer headline story: The wife of prominent Milford coach Gil Thorp, and several students were indicted on charges that they knowingly purchased and used drugs from an undercover police task force posing as an Uncle Bud’s ice cream truck during a softball game and picnic. Among those indicted was a student recently expelled from Milford high school for being in possession of a deadly weapon. Milford principle, Dr Minnie Pearl, did not return phone calls requesting comment.
Oh come on. “I was so excited I didn’t even finish the letter!” What a stupid, unrealistic, sitcom type setup. “We are pleased to reoffer you admittance to-” “YAY, I’m in! I’m not even going to read further. Sure there might be conditions and some follow up needed, but I can’t be bothered to continue reading!”
Well my prediction for today was wrong, but I’m confident about Monday. Gil and Mimi and lemonade to start it off, along with a “Meanwhile…” in P3.
And speaking of meanwhile, meanwhile in Mopped Up Thorp Land, things have wrapped up there as well.
This wasn’t Peacock, Herk, or even Tat Slap level absurdity, but at least they’re trying. Always showing the subtle levels of power from State Champion Gil. Moral of the story, I guess, is to always have a fixer close by. Hump a leg. Be a Mayor.
Was nice how the whole “Mayor” nickname was integral to this story. And I’m still waiting to find out WHAT ADVICE HE GOT FROM KAZ WAY BACK AT THE START!

P3: This is the worst story line, hands down.
