Mimi looks like a teenager in yesterday’s strip….now she’s wearing her teenage clothes. I especially like the Capt. Spaulding hat.

The library board has to meet for pie? What taxpayer dollars are being spent for that pie?

And how is that the same woman in P2 as P3? They barely look like sisters.

I wonder if there still is time to get on the ballot, that enormous slice of pie could be a real incentive!!!

You can keep upticks from biting you by tucking your pants into your socks.

P4 Mo at the Diner eavesdrops while serving pie to the board members, anonymous calls are mysteriously made to (Unlike)Abel, Zane(y) and Marji Ducey at the Milford Tattler Tribune tipping them off about the meeting. All three show up simultaneously and the opportunity for a meet and greet between the board and candidates quickly degenerates into a name calling and pie slinging melee, Marji’s coverage generates even more interest which results in three more library card signups during the following week

P1.5 if the team had a coach

mmmm……..Mimi midriff…..I’m glad she’s 27 years old again.

Agree with the above about Mimi and the midriff exposure….tan lines could be interesting; certainly more interesting than the lines in the panel; P2 No mask and social distancing mandates in effect in MILFord; could be a clue as to location. P3 lacks a featured hand drawing as we would have expected; just a too close close-up!

P1- Why does Gil look so comfortable holding that shovel?

P2- I nominate the huge helping of cherry pie as prop of the week.

P3- An uptick in library cards means more potential users of the library unused, but very Able computers.

Library board stuffing pie in their pie holes, patting themselves on the back for eight new library card signups resulting from their unanticipated publicity bonanza to justify their existence, there goes the story arc for the rest of the week

In all reality , the Milford Library Board meets and discusses library business without previously giving notice to the public of this meeting in a blatant violation of the Open Meetings Act .

There’s hope for this comic strip after all! From P2 on, Wayno & Piraro (of “Bizarro”) will be taking over the art and story line.

P1, Gil and Mimi collapse in hysterical laughter at Gil’s joke.

P2, The Library Bored appear to be too sleepy to even eat pie.

P3, Rather than at the Library Board doing whatever it is the Library Board is supposed to do.

P 1: Gil sounds like one of us

P 2.5: “… uh, like what story in the star?…”

P 4: “…yeah, go on with your bad self lady, and you don’t need any more pie either…”

I understand there was a large divide into splitting a whole pie between the cherry pie group (won out) and the blueberry pie group.

Now I know why Abe is coming for these people

Wow! The first time we’ve had more than one applicant for a board position!

P1 – Looks like they’re ready to do battle, gladiator style!

P2 – What is red shirt lady using to eat with? A mini spatula? Green shirt lady is totally bored, and blue shirt guy I guess hates pie.

P3 – I’m confused with the narration boxes. What was the point of clarifying that they are meeting for pie? That’s the purpose of the meeting? It has nothing to do with library business?
