The flames of hope for a Valley co-championship (aka Eastern Cincinnati Conference) in Milford, OH were doused by the torrential attack of state-ranked and undefeated Winton Woods, falling at home 28-14 last night. There are many positives for the Eagles (7-2 overall, 5-2 in the Valley) despite the setback. Third in the Valley is theirs to lose as the Eagles close the regular season on the road against conference foes who trail them in the standings. Big picture, the Eagles clinched a playoff spot despite the loss. Currently holding the sixth seed, winning out and their strength of schedule will likely enable them to hold onto a top eight seed and host a playoff game week eleven.

Maybe they don’t need a 60,000 seat stadium after all. And why isn’t Toby in the locker room at halftime with the rest of the ‘boys’?
