I remember her - gossip columnist, right?. Her son played on Paul Drake “The Perry Mason Show”, if memory serves. Thanks for the reminder

For some reason I get/got Hedda Hopper and Phyllis Diller mixed up.

I think it was Phyllis Diller who said she had been caught in a ladies’ latrine where the paper had run out. Leaning down as far as she could she whispered under the partition to the lady in the next one to tell her the paper had run out and could she please pass some under.

The answer came back that it had run out in there too so Phyllis Diller asked if she could change a Twenty for two Tens.

Now don’t start blaming me for that one, Phyllis Diller is the one who told it but is there any chance of a consolation prize Dry.

Hedda Hopper (May 2, 1885 – February 1, 1966) was an American actress and gossip columnist, whose long-running feud with friend turned arch-rival Louella Parsons became at least as notorious as many of Hopper’s columns.

God bless being of an age when one remembers the Hedda Hoppers and the Phyllis Dillers and the Bob Hopes and the Bing Crosbys and all the et al, without any of the symptoms of forgetting.

usfellers I’m a bit younger than you, won’t say how much, but we know! I remember all those, thanks to my parents! And I enjoyed them all! I remember always watching the Bob Hope specials when he went to visit the troops! Great shows they were, and I was just a kid, but I enjoyed them!

Dry: (Feeling in prize bin) Ah, this parcel feels hard, rectangular and it rattles - sort of like sneaking a preview of the parcels around the Christmas tree. (Opens) Wow, the Ginger Meggs movie and a pack of DVDs of the great MGM musicals.

    Thanks a million.
