    G’day Jason, Dry, JFri, Ottod, Meggsiefan, Frank, Bjorn and all Meggsie’s mates.

    Dad, this is a ‘first’. For years I’ve wondered if anyone ever followed those recipes or serving suggestions on cans. Maybe out in the big wide world there is a collector of can labels with recipes.

    As for me, well, I like it neat, straight from the can. Wouldn’t think of putting slices of Spam on lettuce with the odd olive and tomato slice thrown on for good measure. Just spoon it out and eat it neat until the penance of heartburn sets in.

    Same thing with tinned sardines. Down neat, oil and all, with a packet of Rennies at the ready.

    Don’t want to see recipes, just long to see a label that says ‘Eat neat if desired’.

    I can’t think of anything out of a can I don’t modify before eating, except maybe sardines – and I can’t remember the last time I had sardines.
