Amazingly rare expressions of love from the grand kids! Gram will be thrilled they thought of someone besides themselves but may be chagrined at their choice of a “gift.”

We built a little garden behind our house in upstate NY. Every year I’d look forward to the tulips blooming. The plants would put up leaves, then the flower stalk, finally the bud would be just ready to open and the deer would eat them.

Knowing my grandmother, she will probably be OK with it.

The tulips look fake. Wait! Everything is fake in GC! Yes, I just noticed that!

A cousin had a fairly large farm out at the end of a dead end road.(it was his driveway until his grandfather had somehow managed to con the County into not only paving it but plowing it, along with naming the road after him. The road ends between his house and barn, even put his mail box right next to his kitchen door-the road is 2.5 miles long) Every year, he would catch tourists/big city people stealing from his very large garden, or his pears and apples. Got so bad he finally spent the money to put in a 7 foot high metal fence all along the side of the road

Tulips do not last weeks. The blooms are good for two or three days.
