We have a Prius. A few years ago we had to call JAF (the equivalent of the AAA) as we had a flat battery. Even they didn’t know how to fix it. (They do these days, but we haven’t needed them since).

And my friend’s conventional car engine looks like a collection of plastic boxes.

That’s why they started putting bright yellow plastic handles on them. So you can tell it’s different than the rest of the plastic in there.
