How interested were you in physics when you were 6 years old?

It’s all about environment. My father was a university lecturer in chemistry so I was, ( and still am ) very intersted in physics. Unfortunately the current environment has no-one interested in the very subjects that are providing them with all the toys they like to use. No hard sciences, no computers, no internet, no cars, no planes etc etc. Almost nothing that differentiates our time from the centuries before would exist; but almost no-one is interested in how these things work. I find it quite sad.

ericheadleyUS inventions are usually the work of backyard inventors (regardless what multinational corporation ultimately steals them). I noticed the only time science got any respect (to the degree that kids could be interested without danger) was the short period between Sputnik and “that grapefruit”.
