He doesn’t need any more caffeine or sugar.
Hmm, I once lived in a state back East where people did drink soda and called their father’s ‘Pop’. That was confusing to this Midwesterner.
I live in New England and we say Soda but I have cousins who say “tonic”…I used to thing they were drinking tonic water (eww)
I grew up calling it pop, but moved away for over 40 years. Now I’m back in “pop” country and it still catches me by surprise sometimes.
They’re both wrong. In Texas it’s called a “Coke” no matter what you’re drinking.
Here in E N Carolina, it either as wierdharold2112 said or it is called a “drink”, short for "soft drink ".
My kids call me Dad.
Soda was called a pop where I grew up. A milkshake would be called a frappe or a cabinet!
I grew up in W. PA where it is pop. Later moved to NY where it is soda. Always told the NYers that soda is what you mix with scotch and that if the bartender put grape Nehi on their Dewars they got just what they ordered.
Sorry Gray.
This Midwesterner always calls it by its first name—soda.
I’m going to have a beverage now… and adult beverage!
Pop. Always pop. Only pop.
