I admit to being cheap. With the portion sizes that some restaurants serve, I can get at least a full meal out of the leftovers. What bugs me is that when you ask to take the leftovers home, a lot of the servers now hand you an empty “to-go” box and expect you to fill it yourself. If you’ve ordered a sauce-laden entree that’s served in a wide-rim bowl, it’s a challenge to get the food into the box without spilling a bunch of it on yourself. If servers expect a 20% tip, they should be taking care of this themselves back in the kitchen. Now everybody get off my lawn!

It also shows you’re cheap.

When the wife and I do go out, we usually will just get one entre and split it. The portions are too big for one person generally speaking.

Don’t worry about being cool. Why throw away a good meal you’ve paid for?

So, if “doggy bag” dates you, just what is the correct term now?
