Some people just dig a simple job after doing a hard one. I was playing golf at Kingsmill in Williamsburg Va. We stopped at the 9th hole where there was a little snack stand to get a hot dog and a beer. The guy working the stand, kept turning down my tip, insisting he didn’t want it. As we started back to the cart I threw a few dollars down and hurried away before he could return it. When I got back to the cart, I said, “Man, I’ve never seen a guy fight so hard not to get money.” The guy I was with said, “It’s probably because he used to be the CEO for Texas Instruments.”
The danger of working a salaried job. In a lot of cases, your security can be based on a popularity contest if the company ever needs to downsize personal. Only people really safe in those positions are ones with a highly needed technically skill that won’t become obsolete.
