My dad used to give us our allowance based on our age so when I was 10 I got $10 every two weeks for chores. I remember being excited too (not so much that I flaunted it though). Some of the things I bought back then (1987) cassette tapes, candy, more candy, more cassette tapes, Barbies, more candy. Fun times!
