The Secret of NIMH wasn’t a bad movie, but was a bad recreation of the book Mrs. Frisbie and the Rats of NIMH, which was great. The Postman was a bad movie based on a bad book. Joshua (from Joshua Then and Now, yes?) was a good book turned into a mediocre movie. Such is life. Movies and books are different, that’s all there is to it.

My reaction after seeing The Postman and Joshua. Also, my daughter’s reaction after seeing The Secret of NIMH and Inkheart.

The book is always better than the movie. Book includes details the movie can’t.

So very true. And they change the story sometimes to fit their script.

African Queen is the only movie I have seen that was an improvement on the book.
