Worker “B” does not work any more slowly than he did before, so the job should be done in better than 3 days because he has help from worker “A”. I don’t do math, but I know that I can generally get a job done faster if I have a helper. Even a less competent one.
Point is he is right, there is no mathmatical formulae for this. The real answer is that the shed will never be built because both would want to be in charge, they argue, fight, and storm off with nothing being done. BTDT.

The correct algebraic formula: AxB over A+B therefore:
