He should have just hung up on them without arguing. That is what I do to that type of pest.
Or have Caller I.D. which is on every phone now. He still has that dated rotary telephone.
When the power goes out, that dated rotary phone will still work, while the rest of the world wonders when the snowing and blowing will stop so Ma Bell can get in and fix things.
