My grandmother’s favorite cook book had presided over so many meals that my dog used to salivate when I opened it. Yes, I understand want to eat the smell of something.
“Irish cuisine??? Do you know how we do everything cuisine wise? We put everything into a pot and boil it for 17 and a half hours straight, until you can eat it through a straw! That’s not cuisine, folks, that’s penance!”- Denis Leary
I had an on-campus apartment when I was in college and one day a friend told me this story. During a short holiday break she decided to stay in town instead of going home and she was staying with a friend who had the apartment across from mine. One day she was in the living room reading when she smelled something really good and she asked her friend about it, her friend sniffed and said, “Oh, that’s just Dale cooking his dinner. People walk past his door when he’s cooking just so they can smell.”

I used to go by the chili roasters during the summer. Sometimes I would just sit there and enjoy the aroma.
